Bamboo eco-straws are hand washable so can be reused on many occasions. Once they’ve been used to their fullest, you can simply toss them into the compost bin, as these 100% natural straws are completely biodegradable.

different ways to wash your bamboo straw:

  • wash with soap and water like you would your dishes
  • wash in a dishwasher
  • boil in water for 10 minutes
  • To deep clean put boiling water into a bowl + add 1 teaspoon vinegar add your straw and leave for 10 minutes then rinse with water.

Made from the hair of a coconut and bonded with a natural latex, these are an excellent alternative to the usual green scratchy pads that take off the non stick on your pans.

They are fully compostable and made from natural fibers. Stays fresh and effective for months. Uses less soap but produces more suds.

Rinse clean after use. Store in a dry area, on a soap dish for example. For a deep clean, soak for a few hours in white or apple cider vinegar – 1 part vinegar to two parts water.

70% of all litter items in our oceans is from plastic out of these 50% of the plastic is single use such as drink containers, food containers, plastic bags, crisp bags, sweetie wrappers etc. It can take over 400 years for some types of plastic to break down.

300 million tons of plastic is produced every year, half of which is only single use. More than 8 million tons of plastic is dumped into our oceans every year.

  • Annually approximately 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide. More than one million bags are used every minute.
  • A plastic bag has an average “working life” of 15 minutes
  • Countries like China, Ireland, Australia, Bangladesh have banned or have placed restrictions on  single use plastic bags.
  • Taiwan banned plastic bag and plastic utensils as a way to reduce  60,000 metric tons of waste per year they deal with each year
  • In the North Pacific Ocean, there are 6x more plastic debris than plankton. They are causing deaths to ur marine animals who mistake them for food.
  • We have an island in the middle of the North Pacific Gyre, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch – which is mostly composed of plastic. It’s the size of India, Europe and Mexico combined.
